If you noticed that your PC or laptop performance is degrading , starting up very slowly or taking too long to load up a program or document it’s time to upgrade the existing Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to a new Solid State Drive (SSD).

SSD’s use flash memory to store information and have no moving parts so therefore do not heat up like traditional HDD’s. Because of this they are more reliable, quieter and much faster. A PC equipped with a SSD will boot up in seconds compared to the minutes required to spin-up a HDD. Because they have no moving parts SSD’s use less energy, this will result in better battery performance in laptops. SSD’s are more dependable, they can withstand the bangs and bumps that can cause data failure with HDD’s. SSD’s improve productivity in the workplace, turn on and start working immediately plus documents and application open much quicker.
If asked to upgrade a laptop with a SDD I usually clone the users existing HDD to the SSD, this reduces the risk of data or settings getting lost. Using the SSD, then I can start to clean up the years of accumulated junk files and applications at much faster speeds than if I tried to do it with the original HDD. The results usually impress 😊.
